    پروفسور بیژن طیف گسترده ای از تحقیقات را در زمینه های انتقال حرارت، مکانیک سیالات، ترمودینامیک، انتقال حرارت در زمینه رسانه های متخلخل و همچینن گسترش قانون طراحی در طبیعت را انجام داده است.
    پروفسور بیژن تا به حال بیش از 100 تا مقاله علمی در موسسات مختلف منتشر کرده است و توانسته است 16 دکترای افتخاری از 11 دانشگاه جهان را کسب کند.

    Molecular thermodynamics of phase equilibria
    The purpose of our research is to obtain, interpret and correlate thermodynamic properties of a variety of mixtures as required for process and product design in the chemical and related industries, including biotechnology. Toward that end, we obtain experimental data, perform Monte-Carlo molecular simulations and develop molecular-thermodynamic models based on the statistical mechanics of fluids and solids. Attention is given to crude oils, natural gas, polymers, ionic liquids, and protein solutions. While these research studies contribute to our fundamental understanding of condensed matter, their primary application is for economic, industrial-scale chemical engineering design.

    Research Interests

    Dr. Mather's Research Interets: Phase Equilibria, Fluid Properties, Thermodynamics

    Dr Mather's current research interests include the following projects:

    • Vapour-liquid equilibria involving H2S and CO2 in solutions used for gas treating.
    • High pressure phase equilibria in the system H2S-H2O. This system is of interest because of its interrupted critical locus and its importance in hydrothermal mineral processes.
    • Enthalpy of mixing at elevated pressures. This project involves the use of a flow calorimeter to measure the enthalpy of solution of CO2 in a variety of physical solvents used for the removal of CO2 from gas streams.
    • Modelling of the vapour-liquid equilibria in mixed solvents used for gas treating. A thermodynamic model of the species present in solvents consisting of an alkanolamine, a physical solvent and water used for H2S and CO2 removal has been formulated and tested with experimental data which have been obtained in our laboratory.
    • Kinetics of CO2 absorption in amine solutions. For the rational design of separation processes, a knowledge of the kinetics as well as the solubility is required. Measurements of the rate of absorption of CO2, which is usually the rate-controlling step, are being made.
    • SO2 removal from gas streams by absorption.





    Dr. Mather has over 25 years of experience in thermodynamics research, mainly in the areas of calorimetry and vapour-liquid equilibria. The vapour-liquid equilibria involve systems of interest for the removal of H2S and CO2 from natural and other gas streams. Some solubility work involved the processing of bitumens and heavy oils. Much of this work was carried out in collaboration with Dr FD Otto. Dr Mather has published over 135 technical papers and made over 90 presentations at technical meetings

    پروفسور محمد خشنودی
    روفسور محمد خشنودی در سال 1327 در شهر بندر عباس به دنيا آمد. دوره کارشناسی را در دانشکده نفت آبادان گذراند و موفق به کسب مدرک دکتری شيمی احتراق از امپريال کالج لندن شد. وی عضو هيئت علمی دانشگاه سيستان و بلوچستان بوده و عضو چندين انجمن علمی بين­المللی، کميته تخصصی وزارت علوم و هيئت تحريريه مجله بين­المللی مهندسی شيمی ايران بود. پروفسور خشنودی نويسنده کتاب برتر سال1369 ،استاد نمونه 1378 و يكي از 100 دانشمند برتر سال 2008، در تاريخ 9 بهمن ماه سال 1386 در مجتمع مس سرچشمه دار فانی را وداع گفت.
